SONDO, a tool to get students back into reading

 

In 2025, MOBiDYS conducted a new impact assessment of its SONDO digital library among 70 subscribing teachers (librarians, language arts teachers, and teachers specializing in special education). Discover how SONDO acts as a lever to reconcile students with reading and support teachers in their teaching practices.

 

A highly acclaimed educational resource

Among the teachers surveyed, 88% consider SONDO to be “valuable” or “essential” in their practice. For many, SONDO has established itself as a key resource for facilitating access to reading, restoring students’ confidence, and even reviving their enjoyment of reading:

Concrete impacts on teaching practices

 

94% of teachers observe at least one positive impact on their teaching methods, particularly thanks to:

  • The diversification of reading activities
  • The facilitation of differentiated instruction
  • The discovery of new, suitable titles
  • A renewed enjoyment in leading reading sessions

 

The impact on students: a book format that helps students reconnect with reading

 

80% of teachers have noticed a positive change in their students’ attitude toward reading. SONDO enables a more fluid and inclusive approach: less apprehension about texts, more enjoyment and desire to read, more spontaneous reading, and greater involvement in classroom activities.

It should also be noted that 40% of teachers observe a positive impact on paper reading, proving that digital technology can be a springboard to reading in all its forms.

 

An inclusive solution for all students

 

SONDO has a particular impact on young readers (56% of teachers confirm this), students with learning disabilities (54%), non-native English speakers, and students who are at risk of dropping out. Adapting the tools allows teachers to align levels and include every student in the classroom dynamic.
